The house
Initio Parfums Prives was founded in 2015 in Paris (France). The house concept draws explicitly on pseudo-scientific language around primal olfactive drives and the supposed psycho-biological power of specific raw materials: oud, musk, ambergris and other animalic materials are positioned as having direct effects on human attraction and behavior.
The house works with external perfumers including Nathalie Lorson and Carlos Benaim, among others. The catalogue is structured around a small number of compositions with dense, projecting profiles that favor heavily loaded oriental and oud-centered accords. Distribution is through selective niche specialty retail.
