Perfumes by L'Artisan Parfumeur

The house

L'Artisan Parfumeur was founded in 1976 in Paris (France) by Jean-François Laporte. The house is widely credited as one of the earliest commercial houses to position itself as niche, prioritizing naturals, craft and narrative over mass-market formulation strategies. It worked with perfumers including Olivia Giacobetti and Jean-Claude Ellena before those names became widely recognized in the field.

The house was acquired by Puig in 2015 and continues to operate under the L'Artisan Parfumeur name with a focus on unusual raw materials and travel-inspired compositions. Its catalog includes many works that entered the niche perfumery reference canon, particularly in the green, aquatic and fig directions.

On Osmetheca, L'Artisan Parfumeur is represented by two fragrances: Premier Figuier (1994), composed by Olivia Giacobetti, which defined the fig note in modern niche perfumery; and Tea for Two (2000), also by Giacobetti, a smoky-sweet tea and spice oriental that became a house reference.
