The house

Montale was founded in 2003 in Paris (France) by Pierre Montale. Having worked for years in Saudi Arabia advising on fragrance preferences for the Gulf market, Montale brought a deep familiarity with oud, rose and heavy oriental constructions to the Parisian niche market. The house became one of the first to systematically introduce oud-forward fragrances to a European niche audience.

Montale distributes through niche perfumery retailers worldwide and maintains a large catalog covering oud, rose, musk and exotic materials. The house uses standardized spray mechanisms and standardized flacons across its catalog, with a production volume higher than most artisan niche houses while maintaining selective distribution.

On Osmetheca, Montale is represented by one fragrance: Aoud (2006), composed by Pierre Montale, a direct oud resinous composition that exemplifies the house's approach to raw, prominent oud materials without dilution.
