An editorial collective, a single standard
The Osmetheca Editorial team is the collective that researches, writes and factchecks the English content of Osmetheca, the reference for niche perfumery. Its role is editorial, not creative. The team does not blend, formulate or promote perfumes. It sources, organizes, verifies and writes, so that readers, researchers, journalists and professionals find a documented answer to every question they bring to the site.
The team's working principle is consistency. The same conventions of naming, dating, sourcing and classification apply to every entry, whether it covers a perfumer, a house, a raw material, an olfactive family or a single composition. A reader who consults a creator perfumer entry on Monday and a raw material entry on Friday finds the same documentary structure, the same precision of vocabulary and the same separation between fact and editorial commentary.
This uniform standard is what allows Osmetheca to function as a reference rather than a collection of essays. The signature on every page is collective and editorial, never personal.
A reference is only useful if every line in it can be traced back to a source. ”
What the team covers
Osmetheca is organized into eight editorial spaces, each governed by its own format and verification protocol. The team produces, edits and maintains content across all of them.
Encyclopedia. Long-form entries on olfactive families, raw materials, techniques and historical milestones of perfumery, with a documentary structure.
Glossary. Short, precise definitions of the technical vocabulary of perfumery, cross-linked to the Encyclopedia and to the relevant entries.
Perfumers, Houses, Perfumes. Three sets of factual entries: creator perfumers, independent houses and notable compositions, each built on the same five-block reading framework.
Journal. Editorial articles on tendencies, debates and current moves in the niche segment, with an analytical voice clearly separated from the factual entries.
Guides and FAQ. Methodological guides for readers approaching niche perfumery and direct answers to recurring questions, both grounded in the same documentation as the rest of the site.
One idea, three ambitions
Osmetheca rests on three complementary ambitions: to gather, to answer, to introduce.
To gather in one place the raw materials, houses, perfumers and compositions of niche perfumery.
To answer every precise question with a precise, accessible and verified answer.
To introduce a lesser-known olfactive family, a confidential perfumer, a forgotten raw material, or a perfumery school away from the spotlight.
