The house
Eau d'Italie was founded in 2003 in Positano (Italy) by Sebastian Alvarez Murena and Sissel Tolaas. The house is associated with the coastal Italian landscape, specifically the Amalfi Coast area south of Naples, and operates from the Hotel Le Sirenuse in Positano, the founding institution that commissioned and continues to distribute the fragrances.
The house works with external perfumers who are briefed around the specific sensory qualities of the Mediterranean coastal environment: salt, sea, citrus, stone and marine vegetation. Bertrand Duchaufour composed the founding fragrance, establishing a transparent, mineral and citrus register that defined the Eau d'Italie identity.
On Osmetheca, Eau d'Italie is represented by one fragrance: Eau d'Italie (2003), signed by Bertrand Duchaufour. This marine-citrus composition evokes the coastal landscape of Positano with bergamot, petitgrain, marine accord and a clean woody base. The house page for Eau d'Italie is not yet published on Osmetheca.
