History and inspiration
Vetiveria is part of the recent Eau de Parfum additions to the Ormonde Jayne range, released in 2025. The house has said the composition began with two new materials, Timur pepper and sage, and it is conceived as a tribute to vetiver, taking its cue from the islands of Indonesia where the grass is grown.
It opens on a bright, zesty accord of Timur pepper, sage, juniper berry and lime, then turns to a soft aromatic heart of snowbell, lavender, jasmine and orange. The base is centred on vetiver, with moss, rockrose and tonka bean giving the root a fresh, earthy and faintly almondy warmth.
